I just wanted to take a little time to promote a charity cause I'm working with. Dawnlord on the PP forums is painting a 50 point eKaya tier list to auction off to support canine and feline cancer research. Being a big animal lover I have volunteered to paint a couple models for the cause. You can follow the action on the PP boards or on the Canine Cancer 2012 blog. Look for some WIP shots here as well.
Mountain Warrior Progress #3
Things are starting to come together with this guy. I've gotten the green armor mostly done and the filigree at an acceptable level. I still need to work on the skin (besides the face), the axe, and all the leather straps and bags. I'm starting to feel the time crunch since I haven't worked on the actual diorama scenery much. I need to get him to an acceptable level, get the scene done and then if I have time go back and work on areas I'm not 100% on.
Mountain Warrior Update
Well I got some more work done on this Mountain Warrior. I'm still quite intimidated by him. I got some good progress done on the shield but I think I need to go back and add more shading to the green areas on the bracers and legs before I do much more work on the filigree. I'm hoping to finish a rough draft of him by April 1st so that I'll have some time to incorporate feedback and work on the basing before the due date of April 14th.
I am currently working on getting this Mountain Warrior by Rackham painted. It's will hopefully be part of a diorama for a painting competition but the due date of April 14th is quickly approaching and I'm getting distracted by Infinity models.
The filigree on this guy is really giving me fits, especially the shield. It looks really messy and I need it to be extra clean since I'll be submitting it as something to represent my work. I'm pretty happy with the face and where the beard is headed but he's huge and there's a long way to go.
